Changing pracsoft.ini settings so they do not rely on network drive letter mappings

In pracsoft.ini change all references to the mapped drive letter (e.g. f:) to \\ServerName\ShareName where ServerName and ShareName refer to the names given to your server and share that contain PracSoft databases.

Desktop shortcuts - copying from your Start menu to the Desktop

For this example we'll create a shortcut to PracSoft Medclaims. However, this may be done for PracSoft Tutorial, PracSoft Statements etc.

1. Right-click Start, then click Explore. Windows Explorer will appear.
2. On the right hand side double-click on Programs.
3. Double-click PracSoft.
4. Right-click PracSoft Medclaims, then left-click Copy. (If Windows Explorer covers your whole screen, before this point you may have to minimise Windows Explorer.
5. Right-click anywhere on your desktop.
6. Left-click on Paste Shortcut.

You may wish to create a shortcut to your backup folder. If so see our downloads page before doing this.

Synchronising Time

1. Create a batch file containing the following: net time\\ServerName/set/yes where ServerName is the name of the computer which will be the 'time server'.
2. Create a shortcut to this batch file and place it in your startup folder.
