MD/PS 3.12.1 due for release on 9 September 2011
HCN would like to take this opportunity to advise all customers that the MD/PS3.12.1 release will be made available via Automatic Update and web download on 9 September 2011.
A number of significant changes have been made to Medical Director's MDref Drug Database structure, which will require ALL Medical Director 2 and 3 subscribers to upgrade to Medical Director v3.12.1 before 1 November 2011.

VERY IMPORTANT: MD2 sites are advised to upgrade to MD3 before 1 November 2011.
The October 2011 MDref for MD2 will be the final MDref for MD2. MD2 will keep working until the October 2011 MDref expires in May 2012. However, for each month that the upgrade to MD3 is delayed, the October 2011 MDRef will be a month further out of date. HCN support staff are on hand to assist and plan your upgrade. The 3.12.1 release contains the following major items:
- MDref drug database has been updated to enhance Medical Director drug list functionality
- New and updated pregnancy codes have been implemented
- The MD2 to MD3 upgrade tool has been modified to ensure a smooth transition to MD3
- Underlying technology changes to support future eHealth initiatives
- MDStats has been updated in line with NPI and APCC guidelines
